Kent Disability Football League
FA & Mcdonalds Grassroots Awards 2019
Yet Another award for the Kent Disability Football League
During April and May people across the country have been nominating their grassroots heroes, from individual volunteers to clubs, and the response has been fantastic.
Amy Rutland, Marketing and Communications Officer for Kent FA said “The standard set in this year’s nominations in Kent were very high, and our judging panel had great difficulty in selecting our county champions. However, I am delighted to say that the Kent Disability Football League have won Grassroots League of the Year 2019 in the Kent FA Grassroots Football Awards. As the County winner, they have been shortlisted for a National Award.”
When asked the League chairman, Brian Gray said “This prestigious award means a lot to the Committee who work hard to provide footballing opportunities for disabled people across Kent. We have players from 8 years old upwards and both male and female who gain a lot from playing football. Amongst other things, the social skills they learn help them in other areas of their lives.”
